My Ratings 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

As an avid reader of classical literature and enthusiast for works of Jane Austen, this novel was a warm and delightful read. I loved reading every chapter, every page of this book.
I am not a person who takes any book slowly and cherishing it as it goes, but Miss Austen was the one which I took my own time reading and having a walk through 1800s Kintbury.
I always knew that Jane had a very close relationship with her sister Cassandra but through this book I came to know her story and how it was like to be the person who knew Jane more than anyone.
Cassandra Austen is a woman who is like a character out of greatest stories ever written. She is like the heroine we all adore and desire to be. She did everything she could to protect reputation of her sister Jane and her literary legacy. Her own story has tragedy and even with a chance to start a new life... She chose to be loyal to her betrothed Tom Fowle who died in shipwreck and she never married any other man.
This story features a peek into life of Austens through letter exchanges between Jane, Cassandra and Eliza Fowle, their close friend. The story progresses as the letters unfold in sequential timeline of events.
As we read the story, we'll get to know more of members of Austen, Fowle and Lloyd families.
There are many characters in this story whom I disliked like Cassandra & Jane's sister in law who drove them along with their parents out of their home to become Mistress of Steventon. She always belittled Jane and later Cassandra because they were unmarried and had no home. The old British law of inheritance were not considerate towards unmarried daughters and have basically no home except their father's, husband's or brother's.
This book beautifully captures the story of how Cassandra saw the making of Jane Austen, her noteworthy works, their travels and her death. After reading this, I just wanted to step inside and visit the scenic locations across Britain of 18th and 19th century.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this piece of literature and I'm in awe of the woman who was Cassandra Austen. I've never wished for companionship of a sister like her who would always look after me, be my teacher, read with me and always be my truest friend.
If you are someone who enjoys historical reads or a fan of works & life of Jane Austen... This books is for you. But I personally think that everyone will enjoy this book because of its comfort and homely feel.
I loved reading this book and had even more fun writing this review. I own this beautiful hardback copy of Miss Austen ; the details on dust jacket, intricate end pages and beautiful lime yellow spine is worth having in the shelf.
