"You and I are going to change the world"
Indeed they did change the world...
Alina's world changed the moment she set out on a skiff into the Shadow Fold...
Shadow Fold, an outcome of experiments gone wrong dividing the country of Ravka into two. Shadow Fold is nothing but slash of galactic darkness and 'Volcra', the monsters who prey humans crossing the Fold...
The only thing Volcra can't stand is Light...
Sun Summoners are rare amongst Grisha ; class of magical elite, Soldiers of the Second Army...
Until one day... A Mapmaker, an orphan, a mere commoner girl entered the Shadow Fold. Alina, in attempt to save her only childhood friend Mal, summoned the light...
The Darkling, shadow summoner and leader of Grisha, took Alina under his wing to train and prepare for Shadow Fold...
Alina unknown to the world of Grisha, living among strangers, not knowing whom to trust, she trusted the Darkling
And would that be a wise choice?
The Darkling sorts out an ancient rare Stag of Morozova as an Amplifier for Alina, to multiply her power. Little did Alina know, the moment Darkling put the amplifier on her, she'll lose control of her power and become his slave...
Eventually when she knew, she ran away with Mal... But no one can sneak away from The Darkling
✨✨✨
Book where not only main characters are highlighted but also supporting ones with their own story... I'm always intrigued and fascinated by them. The complexity of characters are written well and in detail which unviel along the story... There are times you'd think 'Who are they actually and what are their intentions?' Characters like these are the people who complete the story and bring the whole plot to life.
Baghra, the strict ruthless Grisha instructor and also the one who saves Alina's life ...
Genya, the Tailor Grisha and close friend to Alina...
Zoya, Grisha who loathes Alina for her fame and her peasant background...
David, the Fabrikator who doesn't really care about anything except his work...
The Apparat, priest and religious counsel to The King of Ravka who's always trailing behind Alina like a suspicious Shadow.
I cannot say more about them without spoiling the climax of the story... Read it to find out more about this fascinating story.
The whole story kept me intrigued the whole time. The suspense builds up slowly and kept me on edges the whole time... The story is well written by Leigh and this is It's a must read series ๐ญ❤️
