We all are bound with memories, that's how we look back to some of our happiest times and even moments we wish to forget. The ones which are toughest to remember are often those moments we shared with people we love the most and they are no more here to make new memories.
Emily feels the same... Since she lost her mom three years back, she can no longer do things that she did with her mom. So when her dad forced her to join bingo night which is hosted monthly in their small town of Huckabee, she was reluctant because this was one of her favorite time with her mom who always felt they were lucky. It started from Emily being born on 5th May, picking up 505 bingo card, keeping lucky quarter. Emily wasn't feeling lucky until Blake entered that bingo night and slowly into her life. Blake's dad and Emily's parents were childhood best friends, this gave both the girls enough opportunities to hang out. While cleaning her mom's closet, Emily found a bucket list of things her mom did in her senior year. Blake encouraged her to do the same, Emily loved this idea and took it as a chance to fix all her problems with her friends and ex but mostly to feel closer to her mom 😭
Over the summer both the girls do everything from Emily's mom's list ; Cliff jumping, stealing an apple, finding four leaved clover and slowly they fell in love with each other. Blake could see through Emily, understand her better than anyone... Her mom's bucket list proved to be luckiest thing that happened to her in a while, she's happy since long time and feeling like she's with her mom and also this led her to find Blake who helped Emily with her grief... But our Emily is skeptical because her mom didn't know this part of her and couldn't accept this fact... She's torn between fixing things with her ex, the way her mom wanted her to or be with Blake who brings out her best.

It's been a while since I read a book which feels comfy and warm. Without effort I could relate to Emily even at times when she messed up I was like yeah I did that 😂 There's no unnecessary drama just a book about teen who lost too much and doesn't know how to cope up because the person to whom she used to ask for advise is not here. Emily accepts the fact that she did wrong, she tries to make it right but doesn't know how to. There are so many subtle parts which stood out to me that everyone missed Emily's mom too, it's obvious that she's constantly reminded of her loss but people are remembering her because they also miss her.
